Thank you I will give them a go, but I think the chip is corrupt or died. It reads but takes a long time and when I write a bios to it (even the original) it comes with a verify error 😔...

hmmm, the BIOS chip is a 25R256JVEN but my CH341A programmer only has 25Q256BV and 25Q256FV as an option when it detects the chip. Could this be the issue?

Ok so Ive pulled the BIOS off the BIOS chip by UC2, see attached.
If someone can take a look and unlock it that would be great.

Ahhh, sorry, searched online and it said the bios chip was to the left of the WWAN slot!
Will take a look later!

HP ProBook 445 G8 Battery not charging
Hi all
We have in a HP ProBook 445 G8 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 CPU. When power is connected the power LED light blinks 5 times then stops. Normally HP laptops will blink this LED 10 times as it does a self test when the AC adaptor is inserted. So there must be some sort of short somewhere.
The battery doesn't charge, and is erratic on the MM voltage. Bench PSU LED pulsates when the battery is connected also. So the fault must be on the charging circuit?
I have gone around the board with a MM and cant find anything
Windows shows the battery fine,...Last edited by Julian Bailey; 10-11-2024, 10:38 AM.
