Re: Sega Dreamcast NTSC-U Revision 0 Launch Unit GD ROM PCB Board Short
Ok so I finally had some time to pull the chip and sure enough out of circuit the chips 12v pin is shorted to the chips ground pin so it's for sure the culprit. The cap pads no longer read as shorted with the chip out of circuit as well.
Now to find a replacement. Thanks for your help I appreciate it....

Re: Sega Dreamcast NTSC-U Revision 0 Launch Unit GD ROM PCB Board Short
c62, c63, c64 all check out ok.
U2 is a BA5986FM it very well could be the problem as it's on the same circuit the shorts are on. How would one test it with a DMM to find out if it's bad or not?
If I remove it from circuit and if the shorts on the cap pads appear normal would that tell me it's the fault? Or would that test not be accurate because it's missing from the circuit?
Where do you purchase your BA5986FM from when you fix PS2's? Where is the...

Sega Dreamcast NTSC-U Revision 0 Launch Unit GD ROM PCB Board Short
Hi everyone,
Symptom: When I press the power button the power LED lights up for a second and the fan etc spins for a second then the unit turns itself off and will not do the same thing again unless I unplug the power cable for a few minutes then plug it back in otherwise if I just turn the power switch off and back on right after it comes on for a second it will not come on again unless like I said unplug the power cord for a few minutes then plug it back in.
What I have done to try to isolate the issue so far:
The system powers on and stays on with...

Samsung Un60es6100 LED how to force power supply on?
Hey guys.
Here is a link to shopjimmy with the pictures of the power supply from this set https://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn44-00524a-pd60b1d_chs-power-supply-unit/
I would like to know which pins on the power supply I have to jump to force it on without the main board connected, so I could troubleshoot if I have a main board issue or a power supply issue?
I have read some things that I need a 1 ohm resistor to do it, but I don't think I have one on hand. I have done this on other sets before and never have used a resistor to do it. Please...

Sony XAV-68BT Car Touchscreen Stereo
Hi,
I need help identifying this blown part that's in the picture I included. It sits inside the unit right up against the back of the heatsink, I'm not sure if it's a power MOSFET or the amplifier, but it has two holes blown in it and the stereo will not power on just more smoke comes out of the part. I can't identify it because the burns removed some of the markings. Anyone have any ideas?...

Re: Samsung LED UN46H5203 No Backlights
This set belongs to a friend that says he doesn't want to spend money on it really and asked me if there is a way to jumper the LED to the next led, then turn down the backlight so he could get a bit more out of it. Is that possible?...

Re: Samsung LED UN46H5203 No Backlights
Ok here are the correct pin readouts...
Pins 2 & 3 - 55.1v ( Panel lights up)
Pins 4 & 6 - 29.9v (Panel lights up)
Pins 7 & 8 - 313v (panel doesn't light up)
What does this mean?...

Re: Samsung LED UN46H5203 No Backlights
I'm getting mixed opinions, I would prefer not to have to risk taking out the panel if I don't have to.
Could anyone be more sure what's happening?
budm any ideas I haven't heard your opinion yet?...

Re: Samsung LED UN46H5203 No Backlights
The voltages on the LED tester say...
Pin 1 & 2 - 55.1v
Pin 4 - 29.9v
Pin 7 - 0v
Pin 8 & 9 - 85.8v
What do you figure from those numbers?...

Re: Samsung Plasma PN43F4500BF will not turn on please help
Ok I did this and got the test patterns to come up, but it does the same thing shows only a few patterns then screen goes dark then shows the patterns from the beginning and again goes black does this over and over. I measured the voltages during the test patterns and same thing voltages correct then drop then correct then drop over and over.
I then decide to run the test patterns forcing the PSU on by jumping the pins and disconnecting the power from the power supply to the main and doing...
