    Thanks for the replies and advice. I have not opened it up to do any troubleshooting. Tried two different antennas before installing the old converter so nothing analogue or digital through the antenna jack. Checking supply voltages is a good idea. Seems to have fallen into the "roundtoit" bucket but will get to it soon. Web research so far indicates the board hard to find and expensive. Any help here will be appreciated. Have already been through replacing the bad solder problem about a year ago with the sustain board. I resoldered the old board and...

    LG 60pz550 tuner

    LG 60pz550 TV has suddenly quit receiving signals on the front end. That is it is not receiving any signal from the antenna input, no channels. The TV works fine in every other respect, we can watch DVDs or go to netflix through the wifi dongle. I have rigged a band aid for the wife by using an old converter box as a tuner with an AV output to the TV. She now has all available channels and another remote to change them. My question: Has anyone else had this problem with this TV? Is this another bad solder problem? As this thing is a bear to open because of its size does anyone know what the part...

    I am a retired industrial electrical/electronics tech. Have a bad habit of trying to fix anything that does not work. I am currently working on an LG 60 pz550 tv. Thanks to this site I have repaired it once already, now working on a new problem with it.

    I am a retired Electronic / Electrical Tech with mostly industrial experience. Really enjoyed machine control with relay logic and PLCs and PACs. I can not remember the name of my first computer (senior moment) but I do remember it was tape dependent. That led to a 286, 12 MHz in turbo mode (IBM Clone) and was excited when I was able to purchase a math co-processor.
